Game of Thrones had a plethora of amazing characters with an equally intriguing storyline, but few came close to the redemption arc of Jaime Lannister. There are many questions that come to one’s mind regarding the character, when you’re sitting idle and your mind wanders off into the lush fields of fantasy, and one of them might be, “Was Jaime Lannister a good cook?” Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who played the role, finally has an answer to the question,

Coster-Waldau appeared for an interview with Eater, promoting his latest restaurant-based film A Taste of Hunger. Watch the trailer right below:

In the interview, he was asked the aforementioned question, to which he replied, “It’s funny you ask. There was a scene that, for some reason, was cut from the final show, where Jaime is creating this lasagna for his sister Cersei and Brienne of Tarth. He was trying to convince them into some kind of open marriage thing, so he thought it would be a good idea to bring them together and talk about this while he cooked this lasagna. I thought it was a beautiful scene, but the creators thought it was too complicated, all the layers of that storyline.”

Coster-Waldau also admits shooting the scene using one hand was fairly difficult. He said, “Very tricky. But he actually uses his golden hand to rinse the water away from the pasta. He would dump the pasta in his hand, put a bit of meat on top, and feed them.”

Do you think the inclusion of this scene would have created a really funny moment in Game of Thrones? Talk to us in the comments below!
