In the eternal search for Game of Thrones spoilers, fans can sometimes jump to conclusions. Case in point: when Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) got a new tattoo — a direwolf sigil set above the phrase “The pack survives” — some wondered if it had spoiled the end of the show. If the pack survives, the reasoning goes, does that mean that all of the members of House Stark currently alive will live to see the end?
But everyone can exhale now, as Turner revealed on the The Late Late Show with James Corden that the tattoo is simply something she got to mark the end of the series.
We would like to point out that we did not jump to this conclusion and give ourselves a pat on the back. Hold for applause.
Turner got the ink from tattoo artist Lauren Winzer. While it’s not a spoiler, it wasn’t lost on Turner that some might misinterpret her ink.
While I was getting it done people advised me not to because it looked like I was giving everything away. But I wasn’t. It’s just a quote from last season but everyone figures that the pack really does survive, but it’s just a moral I like to live by.
And with the tattoo controversy behind us, we can all focus on more important matters, like watching Turner belt out a pretty stunning a capella version of Eminem’s “The Real Slim Shady,” all while the Foo Fighter’s Dave Grohl looks on in awe.
Aca-awesome.
