At Con of Thrones 2017, Ash pitched a kickass idea for a new GOT/ASOIAF successor show… and won! Here it is again, this time, with animations, because we *all* deserve Nymeria.

  1. Didn't liked it in the way you put it.
First thing, not nymeria centric, she's clearly a psychopathic villain. The disdain she has to for populous is only shadowed in the story by the valyrians themselves. She'd be either a villain who'd never defeated or a force of nature.
Female centric? Yeah and no. Certainly more female POV characters because they pretty much sent the males to die against the valyrians, so more female as POVs would make sense.
I completely disagree with the whole smith idea, exchange this for a seasoned warrior who survived enough to be unable to fight but still able to pass wisdom forcing a little girl to turn into vicious killer and give her life for a queen that doesn't give a fuck about her.
The whole faceless slave thing would complicate stuff too much, there's only a limited amount of time to spare.
Also, nymeria didn't "conquered" dorn, which is visible by the fact that the rulling family inherited the local's name, she did "united" dorn though, evident by the fact that her descendants rule dorn and the fact that it wasn't united before her. (and by her I mean the rhoynar and allied families) Of course, this "unification" looks a-lot like conquering, but there's a difference.
Also throne inheritance problems due to polygamy, bastards and parental uncertainty could be explored if there was time, though there probably won't be. This whole political mess she invariably left is enough for a whole series.
For christ sake, the whole GOTs debacle can be argued to be the long therm consequences of the blackfire debackle, which would have been way less problematic than the problem that nymeria left after her death.
It's literally no wonders why she suffered so many assassination attempts. Besides condemning half of her population to die in a toxic land, and then even though the result wasn't pretty she decides to do the same in dorn which could have turned out the same or worst. That's hitler's levels of stupidity, and god knows how many times even the nazis tried to kill him for it.
Also, the rhoynar as andals had iron smithing, probably steel smithing when they emigrated to westeros.

  2. The heroic mother-queen troupe has been done to death, however we might like Dany in the books, that kind of character does not translate well to film due to our political climate, audience exhaustion at the poor execution of both author and screenwriters regarding Dany.

I would love to see your idea brought to life, but I think it is unwise, especially where there are riper fruits to choose from.

  3. It'd be neat to see them land in Sothoryos and see Yeen until somebody gets torn apart by a raptor or a King Kong! Wonderful idea guys!!!…. Adventures of Lomas Longstryder would also be amazing!
