HBO has announced that there will be a prequel of Game of Thrones. It was announced last year in October that there will be a prequel for Game of Thrones.
Game of Thrones prequel has cast its first main lead role
Recently the makers have revealed the main cast of the prequel. Paddy Considine, the British actor will be going to play the role of King Viserys Targaryen. The network has confirmed about him last fall for 10 episode series, House of the Dragon.
The character description is given by the makers saying He is a decent, warm and kind man only wished everyone success and to carry forward his grandfather’s legacy. He was chosen by the lords of Westeros to succeed the Old King, Jaechaerys Targaryen. Apart from this, we know this very well that good men don’t do makes great kings.
Paddy Considine has played many other roles. Like in the HBO miniseries The Outsider, BBC’s amazing series Peaky Blinders and Informer, and The Sky Atlantic miniseries The Third Day.
So the new prequel House of the Dragon will be based on Fire and Blood by George R. R. Martin. It was published in 2018. The story describes the history of House Targaryen and set over 3000 years before the events of Game of Thrones. It is co-created by Ryan Condal and Martin. Will also act as Co- showrunner with Miguel Sapochnik. Miguel has directed some great episodes of Game of Thrones like The long Night, Battle of the Bastards, and The Bells.
No other official casting breakdowns for House of the Dragon are available yet. Fans have been speculating about the potential lead characters based on Martin’s book, though the novel covers 150 years and it’s still unclear which time period the series will focus on.
