Every time Americans go crazy over certain merchandise a friend of mine buys a butt load of it and sells it on eBay for a massive mark up. Mainly because here in the land of Oz we don't go BSC over stuff en-mass. So it tends to be over stocked here.

Well, technically, it shouldn't be pronunced GIF nor JIF. It should be G.I.F. Just as in U.S.A. or IBM

I just call GIF files as "JEE-EYE-EFF" so them "GIFF" or "JIFF" people can argue all they want 😛 Also, the creator already specify the pronunciation so why not just respect that? If you name your child "Jimmy" you wouldn't like people calling him "Stan" now, would you?
As a gif animator in the 90's it was always originally called jif by the industry professionals at the time (yes, that was a professional career at one time lol)
Regarding the pronunciation of the word GIF I can proudly rely on my age: being an early student of HTML and graphic design I was taught to say GIF with a J sound.
Only those who studied computer graphic design before 1999 can argue with my statement.

The only thing that drives me crazy about cosplay is that people buy costums and call it cosplay. It's not cosplay unless you've made it.

The fact that gamers who love a popular and kind of overrated shooter threatened to kill the creators of said shooter makes me very sad to be a gamer…
