This isn’t the news I was expecting to hear today, but I am happy to hear it. According to Deadline, Peter Dinklage and Jason Momoa will star in Good Bad & Undead. Dinklage plays Van Helsing, legendary vampire hunter. Momoa plays a vampire who has taken a vow never to kill again. Together, they go from town to town pulling a scam: Van Helsing pretends to vanquish the vampire, and the grateful townsfolk give them money. Apparently, tales of Van Hensing’s bravery have been greatly exaggerated.
Anyway, eventually Momoa’s vampire gets a massive bounty put on his head, and soon everyone and everything is after the pair of them. It’s Van Helsing and his vampire buddy, on the road and on the run!
I don’t know what I like more: the idea itself or the casting. The idea comes from Mark Swift and Damian Shannon, with Max Barbakow signing on to direct. Obviously, they’re going for the funny here, with the valiant Van Helsing reduced to a scam artist working with a creature he’s sworn to kill. And both Peter Dinklage and Jason Momoa are good comic actors with tons of energy. I can see them making a great comic team, with Dinklage playing the straight man to Momoa’s explosive wild guy.
Also, these are two Game of Thrones veterans who never got to share the screen on that show! Tyrion Lannister and Khal Drogo, together at last. You know, the both of them were very close to Daenerys Targaryen. If Good Bad & Undead has a cameo from Emilia Clarke I will 100% buy a ticket.
