Peter Dinklage recently spoke to Variety, and he discussed Game of Thrones, specifically the final season. He started off by talking about why it was the perfect time to end the show now :
“It’s time. Storywise, not just for all our lives. It’s the perfect time to end it. Sometimes shows stay on a little too long, the jumping-the-shark thing.”
He then spoke about saying goodbye to Game of Thrones, and to Tyrion :
“It’s bittersweet when it’s time to move on with everything. It’s always the sad part of our business, because you get pockets of great people for short amounts of time and then you have to move on and it’s always heartbreaking. Especially when you’ve spent more than a couple months with people.”
When talking about the filming on the final season of Game of Thrones, Dinklage revealed that the filming was “about halfway done.” He added :
“It’s the final season, and it’s a long one so we’re taking our time.”
Now since the filming on Season 8 began in October 2017, by Peter’s estimate, we expect it to wrap up by April. We’ll be bringing you further updates on filming as we hear of it. In the meantime, talk to us in the comments, down below!
