Game of Thrones season 7 is over, and the cast members will be back filming season 8 soon enough. But before that, let’s see what some of them are up to, starting with Peter Dinklage.
Dinklage has a new movie coming out: Rememory, a sci-fi murder mystery about the death of a scientist who invented a revolutionary memory machine. Check out the trailer below:
Rememory is out in theaters and on video on demand now — it’s getting terrible reviews, for what it’s worth, but at least Dinklage scored a starring role.
The more interesting Dinklage news from this week is the below video featuring images of him from the ’90s performing in Whizzy, a punk band.
That explains a few things about his “Space Pants” Saturday Night Live sketch…
Elsewhere, Kit Harington is having some lighter fun, explaining how to pronounce Ygritte’s signature line to Ginger Spice one minute…
…and racing Formula Two cars with Liam Cunningham (Daovs) the next:
I don’t know what Harington was there for and I don’t really care.
In actual acting news, Jonathan Pryce (the High Sparrow) has been cast as another religious leader: Pope Francis, the current leader of the Catholic church. He’ll play 266th pope in a Netflix movie about the man’s life.
As various places have pointed out, there are reasons to cast Pryce as the Pope beyond him having recently played a high-profile religious leader. After all, he does look a lot like Pope Francis…
Richard Dormer (Beric Dondarrion) has a new project out, too. He plays investigator Gabriel Markham in Rellick, a new detective series from the BBC that is…here’s the twist…told in reverse order. Watch the trailer:
According to outlets like the Radio Times, Dormer is extremely good in the role, although apparently having to wear a facial prosthetic (his character is badly scarred) is a huge chore.
Finally, Pilou Asbæk (Euron Greyjoy) posted this very weird image and caption on Instagram:
“Getting ready for season 8.” So we’re going to skip forward a couple decades to when Euron has long grey hair?
No, of course not. Heavy thinks this is a behind-the-scenes shot from Sex, Drugs & Taxation, a Danish movie Asbæk starred in back in 2013. He wore a huge fake beard for the occasion.
So Asbæk appears to just be trolling people. It sounds like something Euron would do.
