Phillip Schofield appeared on today’s This Morning as you’ve never seen him before as he unveiled his sensational Game Of Thrones costume.
The whole This Morning team got into the spirit of Halloween with some incredible outfits, but Phil blew them all out of the water by appearing as the terrifying Night King.
Phil was forced to delay his entrance, but it was well worth the wait when he finally emerged as the leader of the wight walkers from the HBO series.
Some viewers were in disbelief and questioned if it was actually Phil under the make-up, but footage of the presenter being transformed proved it really was him.
Holly admitted it was “literally the most terrifying thing I’ve ever seen” as Phil slowly walked in as the Night King – the main antagonist of the Game Of Thrones TV series.
The presenter definitely achieved his aim of going “bigger and better” than last year, but how did he manage it?
After making a terrifying entrance into the studio and gazing upon his subjects, Phil revealed he was transformed by the actual Game Of Thrones make-up and costume team.
Speaking via a voice-over, for reasons that soon became clear, Phil said: “I am the Night King from Game of Thrones and I can’t really explain how much of a massive fan I am of the show. The chance to do this was something I just couldn’t pass up.
“Because the Night King doesn’t speak I think we all agreed that the first time he spoke it wouldn’t be a brilliant idea if it was my voice, so I am remaining totally in character.
The presenter revealed details of the painstaking process to transform himself into the Game Of Thrones villain.
He said: “This has taken weeks in the planning – prosthetic fittings, contact lens fittings, costume fittings, it’s the real deal.
“The whole team who would put the night king together at HBO and GOT have been working with me.”
Phil had a lot of people to thank, showing the amount of hard work that had gone into his Halloween costume.
He said: “This has taken lot of work to put together so there are some amazing people I would like to thank.
“Game Of Thrones co-producer Ollie Butler, director of international publicity for HBO Hannah Pullen for letting me dress up as the night king and saying ‘yes’. I can’t believe they said ‘yes’.
“Barrie Gower and Paul at BGFX prosthetics for creating my incredible face. Costume designer Rosie Flood and Isabel Moore at sky for lending me the fantastic costume and Sinead Sweeney at Eyeworks For Film who made and hand painted these incredible and very scary eyes.”
This Morning viewers refused to believe it was Phil in costume and praised his incredible outfit.
One viewer said: “#ThisMorning is that really Phil? I think not the real phil will come out and scare the crap out of holly.”
Another added: “@Schofe on @thismorning as the Night King is THEE best thing ever. He’s so in character I love it. Scofe-you’re awesome!!#ThisMorning”
A third said: “Actually pretty impressed with @Schofe as the Night King. That must have taken agesssss to do! #GOT #ThisMorning”
