A LITTLE EXPERIMENT I DID WHILE MELTING

Great experiment and it saves me from having to do the same thing as I was planning to test it in a few weeks. I was sorta hoping it would flash away like lost foam (I don't do investment casting) but it looks like I'm going to have to make 2 piece patterns for normal greensand casting instead. Oh well, at least now I know.

I'm thinking if you would have put a hole in botom for the AL to go in if it would have taken the shape of the part and held. the sand in place? ~Russ
