Thanks to Benoit Laurent at Steward Mountain Forge for taking on this project.

In this video we were testing the bardiches against a riveted mail hauberk and a torso analog made of synthetic ballistic gel and PVC pipe.

  1. The sound of the bardiche hitting the bare torso in the slow-motion footage is just so…. Visceral, the sound almost makes it a bit sickening. I hear that I can imagine the flesh and bone giving eay to the strikes.

  2. Ok so wouldn't you think instead of screwing into the wood and somewhat compromising its integrity why not just fit it like an axehead would to its handle. Is that how they were traditionally attached? like wtf.

  3. With your current set-up (although it might be a bit messy) I don't think it would be too difficult to add water with red coloring into the pipes you have in the gel torso and cap off the ends. I know it's supposed to represent bone but I think it would give the test a more cinematic feeling.

  4. I feel that if we at least try out the games skall advertises they would see the traffic and Skall might get even more offers, so let's at least try the games out maybe we end up looking one or something
