Didn't Lord Luthor Tyrell ride off a cliff to his death during a hawking accident?
Fucking Sansa??? who the fuck would love that one…a Tyrion chapter would be far more interesting, even a thousand world book club would be much better. Seriously, readers who like Sansa, I beg you to enlighten me with some of your reasons, I honestly cannot think of any.
+3:30 In GoT, Tyrion fights in the Battle on the Green Fork, but doesn't affect the battle beyond his recruitment of the Mountain Clans. (Ch. 62, Tyrion 8). Tywin Lannister and Roose Bolton choose the battlefield, though Bolton chose to make a battle of it. Through Tyrion's POV, we get a perspective on Tywin's mind when he deliberately stacks Tyrion's command with the least disciplined forces. We also get a foreshadowing that Roose Bolton's interests aren't alligned with Robb Stark, based on how the Northern Forces are set into action.
Catelyn gets a grandstand view of the Battle of the Whispering Wood, in the next chapter (Ch. 63, Catelyn 10). Robb and Blackfish choose the Woods and enticed Jamie Lannister into their trap by pretending the North/River forces deployed there is a weak scouting party, instead of the main fighting force. Catelyn doesn't fight, but she affected the outcome right up to the deployment of Northmen against Jamie when she persuades Robb to increase his own roster of bodyguards, which saves Robb's life, leads to Jamie's capture and changes Northern power dynamic through the death's of the Karstark heirs.
Which paradigm with the Battle of Steel follow? The Battle of Ice parallels the Green Fork in that Bolton and Stannis are utilizing their most marginally loyal forces in ways that limit their own exposure for blowback (btw, I agree with Preston's reading of the Theon and Asha chapters as Battle of Ice foreshadowing). If the Aegon alliance is hobbled by historical Blackfyre & Bittersteel/Martell distrust, it might follow the strategic winnowing of inside forces like Green Fork. If JonCon is relying on tricking the Reachers where and who are the strongest GoldenSteel forces, then it's a parallel to the Woods.
Or its a new paradigm.
Preston Jacobs just asking why you try to find parallels between different events happening at the same time? Just curious
"Ari-anne" . Curious why you pronounce it "Arianna"?
I've always had the feeling that they are actually going to use Roberts Bastard son that Davos has sent to the stepstones to claim the castle of storms end they landed all over that places it's likely they came across him Its likely edrick storm at the front of a host or beside Aegon would be welcomed right on in
Wohoo! Nice conclusion! You're sticking out your neck quite far here with the predictions, Preston. Now back to lamenting when GRRM will finally publish WoW… 😛
Golden company doesn't needs to trick Tyrell host. Golden company are the best fighters in the world since they are professional soldiers and also have elephants. Only Tyrell knights are equal to average soldier of golden company in terms of skill, though knights still have better equipment. I bet golden company has enough money to have a force of 10k heavy cav which would destroy entire Tyrell army (50k). In first crusade Bohemond routed 15k large muslim army with 700 heavy cav in open field with 2 charges.
Jesus preston love your Videos but maybe a little more reading and a little less fanfiction
you are reading one Page in this Video and spend 15 min talking about stuff that isnt even there
Ita that time of the year again. Time to unsubscribe.
They took Tarth? Is Brienne's dad okay?
Please! Finish the books for us, Preston!
One of the best analysis yet, you have made a quite boring POV chapter into one of the most intriguing
Mercy chapter???
Are Martell children expendable for the prince?
fuck Arienne, review season 7
Being gayer than Christmas I have to say I enjoyed such an arcane use of the word faggot. I guess I should change my married name. lol. Thank you for another great video. P.S. I really love your review posts. Should you ever get the idea to do a panel reread of the ASOIAF books I would love to be included.
Could it possibly be that Preston has GRRM figured out. I mean he nails all his WoW chapters w parallels to other parts of his series as well as real history. He also analyses science behind the scenes like his dragon genetics series and his hour long Geology Westeros video and even pieces together literary analysis behind these Prepping for Winter videos. Certainly one of the greatest asoiaf youtube theorist out there!
What's your IQ and GPA Preston?
I'm starting to think that the reason GRRM is taking so long to write the rest of his books is because he's actually REwriting to create new twists and storylines because Preston has uncovered too many of them.
Is it just me or did we not go over the part where they tell her they took storms end at all? That is in Arianne 2 no? The last part ended with daemon sand turning her down and this one with her dragon beard comment lol did i imagine them telling her they took storms end?!? And whats with the ten minutes of house banners ?
Preston you are magical
Yes! The Jon Con/Tywin connection how ruthless you have to become to win and Jon Con having to do this fast because of his grayscale
1000 world's book club next please….sandkings is the shiat
I love that you said the Tyrell forces would fall off a cliff considering that is how the Queen of Thorne's husband was said to have died. 😂😂😂
Why is Daemon Sand named Daemon? Isn't that a targaeryan/valyrian name?
Preston, when ever I watch ur videos I'm like:"ahghaaagh ;orgasam, when's the next book coming out"?
Here's a like. I don't think GRRM is that creative, but I think that's just my cynicism regarding his slipped timelines clouding my judgement.
I'm so happy. Alayne is my favorite chapter
I doubt I'd have gotten a 1/10th of the information Preston gleaned from these two Arianne chapters. To me, they were the most boring of the released chapters though that may be due to not being a fan of Arianne's thought process. Still, watching these videos may make the reread better as I now can concentrate on location of forces and what people are saying to Arianne instead of what she thinks she hears.
Shame Mercy wasn't next, however there's more information about Westeros in Alayne's chapter.
your word choice of "burning faggots" made me laugh pretty hard
Whatever happens we know this: Winds of Winter is going be the most exciting book in the series.
Now it's time to rewatch Preston's entire playlist of Arianne!
"Perhaps I'm projecting what I would do to win." – Preston is absolutely ruthless confirmed.
For the Cavalry, Renly had 20K and then Stannis took 4/5s of that cavalry. That leaves 4,000 Cavalry for the Reach. Thats probably how many Red Rocket is taking
Am I the only one waiting to see aegon's parentage
A 20K man army at the onset of winter? Isnt the whole reason Danni in the show; for her not attacking with everything she has, because an Army that big would drain the areas resources, natural and man gathered resources. it seems to me that Mace could be in trouble.
Do you really think the Tyrells will switch sides while the Lannisters have Loras and Margaery?
at 2:29 you said 3000 instead of 30000
does he put these out only as audio?
I'm thinking Jon Connington hopes Arrianna will show up about the same time the Tyrell army does. The Tyrells will see the Martell banners and either retreat or seek to parlay thinking that a Martell host has come to join Connington. Connington will then have won the battle without spilling a drop of blood.
Wow!
This is the best theory that you have ever produced. Holy shit.
fuck the eskimos
My theory on how he will take storms end is that he will do similar trick to what ramsay did to theon at winterfell. Come in, break the tyrell siege and pretend to be friendly with stannises men. The men inside storms end would probably have little idea whats going on outside the siege so he could just lie about golden company being hired by stannis and theyd let him in. I mean who would think that an army that has just broken the siege youre under would just resume the siege again it wouldnt make any sense which is why connington isnt going to siege storms end to begin. So the men inside storms end who are probably already going hungry due to the siege would probably jump at the chance of fresh friendly troops and supplies.
Any updates on your book?
