WATCHMEN gets pilot order from HBO

Patreon Supporter Dennis Fox – I was wondering if you already had a chance to watch the Zack Snyder short “Snow Steam Iron”. I’m happy to see him back and his work is visually amazing as usual, but instead for some it seems to have revived the old controversy about violence against women in his movies. What are your thoughts on him returning and on the way he did?

Jack – Hey john huge fan since the AMC days, my question is this, and I’m honestly surprised that no one seems to be talking about it. because Disney has announced that they will be launching their own streaming service in 2019 and that all Disney/Pixar/marvel etc MOVIES will be removed fom Netflix, wht will happen to the netlix shows, i.e daredevil, the defenders and the soon to air punisher. thanks and bring on the filthy.

Jack Spittal – With the overall ‘meh’ reaction to Kingsman 2 The Golden Circle do you think it will gain a sequel I personally hope it will, but what do you think?

Bobby Mitchell – ‘ve been a big fan since the red and blue curtain days. War for the Planet of the Apes, which I loved, has only made $146 million domestically and could have been considered a bomb; however, it just opened in China to the tune of $62.3 million. My question is, by the end of its total box office run, will War for the Planet of the Apes be considered a box office success for Fox?

  1. trailer was fucking godlike. and as far as the snyder "controversy" all I can say is L M A O pls. Its like that line in deadpool, "is it sexist to hit you? is it more sexist to not you hit beacuse you are a girl? it gets so confusing" (in the deadpool context obv) I personally have always found him to be fair. And its gotten to the point where you will offend someone no matter what you try, so just tell the story you want to tell and dont worry about what people will think. Let the story speak for itself.

  2. I agree that Wonder Woman does not deserve a best picture nomination, but then, nor does Logan. Logan may deserve some acting nods for Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart, but overall as a narrative I found it lacking and not as compelling as everyone else seems to think. Come the end of the year, I'm sure there will be ten more films who are far more deserving of one of the coveted slots than Logan is.

  3. John your wrong. There not making 5 spin offs. They have 5 different ideas not 5 separate series. Also they can't continue the story without any books to go by. Get your research game up! Lol

  4. HBO has different writing teams working up different ideas where 1 or 2 of them will ultimately get put into production.  They are in the very early stages and all 5 are not being fully developed by HBO at this point, the are more "in the works" like the Lucasfilm Story Group.  Once HBO sees the potential of all five different projects, they will go to production.  Some of them are only designed to be one season mini-series, while others are traditional series. I've never heard someone say "Warner Brothers" is developing prequels for GoT, but I guess that's technically correct since HBO is owned by Time Warner.

  5. its funny seeing marvel trying to compensate for their mostly kid friendly movies by making punisher as dark as possible. this is why the TV n movie characters will never crossover. sorry if i burst any marvel fanboys' bubble. lol

  6. the problem with snyder is that he overuses woman suffering asa cheap way to create tension

he have a gigantic problem with creating female character and not having then being abused, he just doesn`t know how to portray woman

  7. do you need someone to order a TV show, I mean say if bill gates wanted to make a TV show could he do that, then try to get it on tv, is it the same for a movie, he make it, and then trys to get it in theathers, or if you have enough money would it be easy.

  8. The Punisher trailer is the most chest beating, wall punching, manliest trailer I have ever seen !
Metallica ! The Punisher screaming "YEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!" while firing a fucking machine gun ! IT'S AWESOME ! I hope the show is just as good !

  9. I haven't gone back and re-watched season 2 of Daredevil yet, so I may be wrong when I say this but… Wasn't it mentioned that Frank Castle's family was killed in crossfire between rival mob families at a park or some such thing? Like I said I may be imagining this but I swear that was brought up. So I'm thinking the scene of his wife being shot in the trailer would be part of a dream sequence or the like. I really think the Punisher season will take place after the events in season 2 of Daredevil.

  10. Been waiting forever to see a watchmen series on HBO when I first heard about that, & I think the movie is ok like for me the problem I had with it is a few casting choices and the reveal didnt impact me like it did in the comic, but yeah I'm ready for the series

  11. My two favorite sci-fi movies of 2017 (so far) are "Ghost in the Shell" and "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" and I'm still anxiously awaiting the DVD release to see "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets." Like many film fans, I greatly look forward to seeing "Thor: Ragnarok" and "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" in 2017.

  12. I get the feeling that it will take place after Daredevil Season two, but before the Defenders (season ending right before the events of Defenders). Marvel is always thinking ahead and tying in stories, I think they are setting up Frank Castle for the other Hero series and into Defenders Season 2.

  13. 15 movies? I think you're giving the general movie-going audience too much credit. I consider myself lucky if I get to see 3 a year in theaters, so 6 to 8 may be a closer average. This year is the only outlier I've had in over 2 decades with 6 movies (Guardians 2, Wonder Woman, Spider-Man Homecoming, Thor Ragnarok, Justice League, and Star Wars Ep. VIII).

  14. Campea is damn right. Those who say movies like WW Antman GOTG BvS should be nominated are the people who dont realise how tough it is to get to the Oscars and how good are the quality of the Oscar movies. I liked BvS. Didnt love it. It was fine. But when someone comes to me and says that BvS is a masterpiece and it will become a cult classic like Blade Runner or Fight Club, Im like in Campea's voice "NOPE"
