The Kill Bill movies came out in 2003 and 2004, and starred Uma Thurman as a katana-wielding assassin out for revenge against the former colleagues who massacred her wedding party and killed her unborn baby.
Only unbeknownst to her, her child survived and turned up at the end of the second movie, played by young actor Perla Haney-Jardine. The movie had a happy ending, with the Bride and her daughter B.B. driving away into the sunset…after the Bride killed her dad, it’s that kind of movie.
A lot of time has passed since then, but the original films ended with enough loose threads still hanging that fans have wondered if director Quentin Tarantino would ever make a sequel. As he shared during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience. “Revisiting the characters 20 years later, just imagining The Bride and her daughter, B.B., having 20 years of peace,” Tarantino mused, “And that peace is shattered, and The Bride and B.B. are on the run.”
Kill Bill Vol. 3 release date
I’d watch it. But who to cast? Uma Thurman could obviously return as the Bride. And it hasn’t escaped Tarantino’s notice that her daughter Maya Hawke has gone on to become a star in her own right, most notably for playing fan favorite character Robin Buckley on Stranger Things. “The idea of being able to cast Uma and cast her daughter, Maya,” Tarantino said. “The thing would be f***ing exciting.”
I mean, yeah, if you’re going to cast a mother-daughter team, why not cast an actual mother and daughter, both of whom can act? It’s anybody’s guess if the stars will align and Tarantino will actually make Kill Bill Vol. 3, but that iron may be getting hot enough to strike.
