  1. WTF? Why aren't you re-reading thrones more often? Last video on this has been far too long ago. The promise was, whatever the number of views, you would re-read thrones and record a video on it. All the patrons are invested in this dissection of thrones, I hope you can deliver. Certainly you should expect a tremendous decline in the number of views but please tell me all these people who donated money to you when you were begging for them to donate didn't donate just so you could have new microphones for four episodes of season 7. If so, I guess we can only expect thrones videos in 2018 when everyone is watching the tv show. YOU BEGGED FOR MONEY, PLEASE DELIVER!

  2. Love these reread videos so far! It’s like an English lit class with no essays! Are you planning to continue the series? Otherwise I guess I’ll just reread at my own pace.

  3. I'm going on the record as advocating for the Boiled Leather reading order after Storm. Or I'll have to wait a year or five and make a video playlist of that order 😀

Anyone read an alternate order? Before/After/or Instead of as published? And what was your experience?

I needed it. I read GoT-SoS so quickly I wiped myself out and also hit a massive momentum gap after. BL saved me. But I watched S1 before reading, read along with S2 when you could, then switched to books. I messed that up pretty much ideally TBH. Or I'd be a decades old bitter book reader or oblivious shownly, instead of the happy run-of-the-mill average insufferable book snob that I am.

  4. If you guys are interested in really good storytelling and good television then check out THE DEUCE.

David Simon's new HBO show is another sprawling and complex tapestry with multiple arcs and narratives all flowing n and out of one another and like THE WIRE, will not tun into crap and let us down the way GOT has.

Looking forward to your next installment here on this project and hope you can keep it going.

  5. I feel like they glossed over Royce being a symbolic representation for Jon Snow again. Remember that not only are their physical appearances and being unwanted sons of nobility similar, but so are their personalities. Jon thought he was better then the men of the watch and wanted to go ranging before he was ready. 7 hells, they are even both killed and resurrected. Jon having older people give him good council is all that really separates the two.

  6. You mention knowing what you're doing in later life is interesting. But social mobility is a very very modern thing. For so much of human history, basically all, social mobility was zero. Its the norm, not weird

  7. I never thought I liked reading things from kids' POV until I read ASOIAF (mostly because its very often not done very well… I mean i hate the way people write children in movie scripts, too). Bran's chapters are some of my favorite, which surprised me since I started watching the show before I read the books. GRRM mentioned that the hardest chapters to write are Bran's BECAUSE of that fact, because he is a child and he needs to articulate things as if a child is doing the viewing and not completely understanding… anyway yeah I love Bran chapters.

  8. Love the book review guys! keep it up please ^_^ I just have one question, just cause you mentioned symbolism. Whenever the camera zooms onto Gil, there is Superman with Dany and Jon laying there upside down? What's that suppose to mean?

  9. Brynden HATES Blackfyres. Killing them is what he does. There was a whole civil war involving it and his brother BITTERSTEEL!

How the hell Itamar not know anything about such an important character?

  10. How does a direwolf cross the wall?
I don't suppose the night's watch opened the gates for her… I also don't think she could climb it. Did she swim through the ocean?
Was she always south of the wall? Then there must be at least a second direwolf (and generations before them) without being noted.

  11. There are 353 released chapters in ASOIAF. At the rate that you're currently releasing these it'll take you about 10.5 years to complete this series. Guys, you need to slow down or you'll be out of material before the Winds of Winter is out.
