Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2 are considered by many to be the best Rockstar Games games. Partly it is thanks to the western-style stories that have managed to conquer both locals and strangers. If you’ve ever dreamed of seeing the Rockstar franchise adapted to the big screen, you should know that a group of fans began to imagine what their first trailer might look like. The interesting thing is that its concept has a star of Game of Thrones as the protagonist.
Smasher member Rob Long worked for several hours to imagine what a Red Dead Redemption movie would look like. To do so, he took footage of Brimstone from a 2016 thriller featuring Kit Harrington to reinterpret it as footage from a Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer.
The result is a short, but entertaining trailer that will surely make more than one like a Red Dead Redemption 2 movie. Want to see it? You can check it out below:
« Red Dead Redemption 2 is a video game. The visuals, the story and the dialogue are good, so you often have to remember that it is when you go through its huge open world and experience its western history, « Long said. « With a story that solid and similar to the real world, it is natural (at least for me) to imagine it turning into a movie with real actors. »
Will we ever see a Red Dead Redemption movie?
While Long’s work may have thrilled many, it is important to note that a Red Dead Redemption movie is not in development. In fact, it seems difficult that we are going to see it sometime soon.
What we mean is that, in 2016, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, made it clear that it was unlikely that they would bring their franchises to the big screen. Of course, it did not completely close the possibility either.

« We have to be very selective when licensing films, because the economic opportunity is limited and the creative risk is significant. In other words, if a bad movie is made it could unite our intellectual property, and if a good movie is made, the value of those license fees is not that huge. So we have to be very, very selective, « Zelnick explained in an interview with GameIndustry.biz
