2026 got off to a strong start for Game of Thrones fans, as A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms quickly won praise in its debut season. Episode 5, In the Name of the Mother, premiered on February 15 and secured a rare 10/10 rating on IMDb. While longtime followers of the Westeros saga celebrated the milestone, Breaking Bad fans were reportedly less enthusiastic.

Allegedly, many decided that no series should share the pedestal long occupied by the crime drama’s legendary episode, Ozymandias, which has maintained its top-tier 10/10 IMDb rating for more than 13 years. What followed was an all-out review-bombing war between the two fandoms on the platform.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episode 5’s 10/1o rating on IMDb (via Forbes) was apparently threatening for Breaking Bad fans. So, they began review-bombing it with 1/10 ratings. The reason? They could not stand the series sharing the perfect rating with Ozymandias. Since IMDb allows users to leave comments alongside their ratings, several fans openly admitted that their scores were driven purely by personal bias.

User Chris7878 admitted as much in their review, writing, “I haven’t watched a single episode of this show, not even a trailer, not even a clip – and yet I’m confidently awarding it one star. Why? Because my loyalty belongs elsewhere. My glorious, untouchable masterpiece, Breaking Bad, already exists, and in my completely unbiased opinion, that automatically makes every other show a distant second at best.”

Another user, NewBiePie, stated that they had never watched A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, but still rated it 1/10. They wrote, “Didn’t even watch whatever this is. Won’t ever in life. Ozymandias is million trillion times better. Let’s all go and rate this episode 1 rated to keep Ozymandias the only epsiode with 10 ratings.” Meanwhile, user baekobe, claimed that they had initially rated In the Name of the Mother 9.2/10. They further wrote that, as a Breaking Bad fan, they believed only Ozymandias deserved a perfect rating.

Westeros fans returned the favour to Breaking Bad fans

Enraged by the Breaking Bad fans’ strange reactions to the A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episode 5, Westeros fans decided to give Ozymandias the same treatment. Of the 900-plus one-star reviews it has accumulated on IMDb so far, many of the recent ones openly state that the reviewers loved the Breaking Bad episode but simply could not tolerate what they saw as an injustice.

Ozymandias was notably the only episode to have a perfect rating before In the Name of the Mother. Currently, the former’s rating has dropped to 9.9, landing it on #9 in the list of best-rated TV episodes, a stark contrast to its top position. Episode 5 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has a 9.7/10, as of this writing. The two series belong to entirely different genres and were created for distinct audiences. Comparing them, therefore, feels inherently unfair.
