Richard Madden has a bleak prediction for the final season of Game Of Thrones, which isn’t out the realms of possibility.
The 32-year-old actor has one of the best exits in the show’s history, seeing his character Robb Stark brutally murdered in the defining Red Wedding episode.
As the show approaches its final season next year, it seems Madden’s bleak exit has influenced his outlook on the show as a whole – predicting a cutthroat end where no one is left alive.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Madden said: ‘I kind of think it’s just going to be three dragons flying around and everyone else is dead. It’s a possibility!’
Cersei Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow all wiped out as Drogon, Rhaegal and undead Viserion reign supreme? The spin-off factory is working double time.
Madden’s savage prediction isn’t borne out of his death via Red Wedding, however, adding: ‘I can’t wait for the new season.
‘I kind of don’t recognise that I was in it anymore because I’ve been watching so many years of it, and they talk about Robb Stark and I know who he is but I don’t see myself in that role. I’m just a viewer now, which is so good.
‘That was one of the bad things about being in the show is you got the scripts so you knew what was going to happen next, and I’ve not had that for years, so now I can just truly enjoy it as a viewer, which is thrilling.’
Of course, everyone is piling on the theories for how Game Of Thrones will bow out – with Jaime Lannister recently touted as the man to kill the Night King.
Game Of Thrones season eight is set to land in April 2019.
