You can also watch the first season of Billions, Ray Donovan, The Affair, and select episodes of many more from Dec. 26 to Jan. 1.
Roku is set to end 2019 with a bang thanks to securing a lot of grade-A entertainment for you to stream for free over the festive period.
Posting on the Roku Blog, Rob Holmes confirms that we’re getting a second (annual) edition of the Stream-a-thon, which means plenty of free content to watch through the end of the year courtesy of The Roku Channel. In fact, there’s likely more free content than you have time to consume it looking at the full list of shows and movies.
The content sure to draw the most views comes via HBO and Showtime. HBO is allowing Roku to stream the entire first season of Game of Thrones as well as select episodes of Barry, Chernobyl, Euphoria, Sesame Street, and Succession. Showtime will offer first seasons of Billions, Ray Donovan, and The Affair. There will also be the first season of Warrior and Power from Cinemax and Starz.
Further free content is being offered by Epix, Hallmark Movies Now, Smithsonian Channel Plus, The Great Courses Signature, Dove Channel, Pantay, ConTV, FitFusion, Stingray Karaoke, and Up Faith & Family.
The free content will become available on Dec. 26 and remain available until Jan. 1. There’s no commitment required to watch all this free content, so no trials or subscription details to give up front. However, Roku would really like you to subscribe, so it’s offering a new value pack subscription for $20.99 including HBO and Cinemax. If you subscribe to each channel individuall it costs $25, meaning a $4/month saving.
