The Roku Channel may be one of the lesser known video services out there, but promotions like this may help expose it. Available on Roku streaming devices, Roku TVs, mobile devices, the web and select Samsung smart TVs, the Roku Channel is an ad-supported service that, starting on December 26, will stream several shows for free, including the first season of Game of Thrones, according to Variety.
Of course, that only lasts through January 1, so it’s a time-sensitive Christmas present. The Roku Channel will streaming the first seasons of a bunch of other shows during this time period, too, including Warrior, Billions, The Affair and Ray Donovan. It’s also making the first season of Power available for the entirety of December.
Roku will also stream episodes of shows usually only available through paid streaming services. We’re talking about shows like Westworld, Big Little Lies, Barry, Chernobyl, Euphoria, Sesame Street and Succession on HBO; Kidding on Showtime; and Get Shorty, Pennyworth and Punk on Epix.
Basically, if you have access to the Roku Channel and are taking some time off around Christmas, you have a go-to thing to do whenever you wanna relax.
