If you’re looking to do a reasonably-paced Game of Thrones rewatch, now is probably a good time to start. Liam Cunningham, who pays Davos Seaworth, told AM to DM Friday that the final season will begin production on Sunday.
As Ser Davos so kindly explained, Sunday and Monday will mark the official table reads for the final six episodes of Game of Thrones. For the week after that, the cast will rehearse, and then it’s straight to filming. (Yes, it is okay to scream at this news.)
“My ass belongs to HBO for as long as it takes to get this done,” Cunningham added.
And just how long will that be? Well, it’s looking like Game of Thrones will probably return in early 2019, making this winter between seasons the longest winter yet.
But we know it’s gonna be worth it.
