One of the most surprising news stories of the past couple of months was that Henry Cavill was going to leave Netflix’s The Witcher show, where he plays title character Geralt of Rivia. Starting in season 4, the part will be played by Liam Hemsworth, known for his roles in The Hunger Games movies and as Miley Cyrus’ ex-husband.
What will that look like? We won’t know for sure until season 4 rolls around, which won’t be for a while. In the meantime, stryder HD has used deepfake technology to create a new trailer for The Witcher, with Liam Hemsworth’s mug subbed in for Henry Cavill’s Watch below!

Why did Henry Cavill leave the role of Geralt of Rivia on The Witcher?
Experts remain divided over why Henry Cavill left The Witcher. Some speculate that he did it so he could resume playing Superman on the big screen, which at one point looked like it was going to happen…although we later learned that it’s not.
There was also a lot of speculation that Cavill, a big fan of The Witcher books by Andrzej Sapkowski as well as the video games by CD Projekt Red, was unhappy with all the changes Netflix was making to the source material, and wanted out. Going along with that, there were also reports that he became difficult to work with to the point that Netflix thought it was a better idea to let him go. But ultimately, we don’t know what happened. All we know is that Superman is out and Mr. Former Miley Cyrus is in.
But there’s still one more season with Cavill left to go. The Witcher season 3 premieres this summer on Netflix! We’ll see Hemsworth starting in season 4 sometime after that.
