Although it was beset by delays, Netflix recently wrapped on the second season of The Witcher, a new series based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s fantasy book series (with some help from CD Projekt Red’s video games). The first season was a big hit, so there’s a lot of pressure on season 2 to deliver.
Star Henry Cavill, who plays the titular monster hunter Geralt of Rivia, is keeping spirits high by giving out wrap gifts to the cast members. Paul Bullion, who plays the witcher Lambert (we’ll meet a bunch of new witchers in the second season) showed it off on his social media. Take a look:
That’s a pretty sick rendering of the logo of the show. That’d look good on any mantle.
When is the release date for The Witcher season 2 on Netflix?
When last we left our heroes, Geralt and finally run into Ciri (Freya Allan), a wayward princess from the fallen kingdom of Cintra. If the show follows the books, and there’s no reason to think it won’t, he’ll take her to back to the witchers’ keep of Kaer Morhen and teach her the tricks of his trade. Meanwhile, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) has helped her magic-wielding brethren win the Battle of Sodden, but that doesn’t mean the threat from the invading kingdom of Nilfgaard is over.
We don’t know exactly when The Witcher season 2 will premiere, but it looks like we can expect it this year!
