The Shazam! Movie is indeed happening! Zachary Levi has been cast and the film is being fast-tracked by Warner Bros. In the video, I breakdown why I think Zachary might be a good fit and why Shazam! is exactly the film the DCEU needs! Let’s talk about it!

Our Humble Beginnings: The Den of Nerds started as the personal YouTube channel of our founder, Joshua Lucas. Josh is a comic book writer and editor, but more importantly, he’s a HUGE Nerd. He started making videos on June 15th 2016. The goal back then was to just talk about Nerdy things, but quickly Josh found that his interests had changed. Soon after, he formed a new vision for what The Den of Nerds could and should be.
The Changing State of Media: Media Is going through the most massive shift in the past hundred years. Everything is going digital, direct to market, and mobile. The best and worst part of this is that there are no more gatekeepers. Anyone and everyone can put their content out there and reach a mass audience. However, the new gatekeeper is the algorithm. In order to get stuff in front of people, certain practices are done which hurt quality. In this world, where established networks are now fighting for views against thousands of YouTube personalities and bloggers, ALL of these people have forgotten the most important part of this equation. That is the value for the end consumer. That is something we will NEVER do. How will we figure out how to add value to our audience? It’s simple; we’ll ACTUALLY interact with them and we’ll actually CARE.
Our Vision: We want to become the ESPN of Nerdy things, but obviously with some changes. We imagine a place and time where we have high quality and personalized content put out every day that serves Nerds around the world. We want to be hyper interactive with our viewers on Social Media and in person. Simply put, we exist to expand the fun in YOUR life! Becoming a major player in reporting, programming, and covering Nerdy things is how we plan to do that!

Zachary Levi will be fine. Its crazy how much muscle you can put on in 6 months if you eat and workout. I am guessing Zachary will be hitting the gym twice a day and eating about 4000 calories a day, maybe more. He won't need a body suit after they are done with him. By April of 2018 you guys won't recognize Zachary. The human can do incredible things.
My face is tired.
I need to see him having put on 80 pounds of mucle before I can see him fit the role.
And they need to keep Billy a young kid – that concept has so much potential to being in the young fans. It's the epitome of every kid wishing they could turn into a superhero and still has the potential for story elements of him being a kid with the issues that carries with it when trying to toggle both roles. If you make him a grown man then you lose a lot of that.
Now imagine Zach fighting The Rock. I don't care how buff he gets, it'll look silly as hell.
Sceptical.

Cena would of been a poor choice. While his acting has improved, he’s not there yet. That could of been a huge negative on the movie. I’m fine with a tonal change from the DCEU. I do hope the bad ass level stays high from the DCEU. #Imagrwonassman
Levi is 6 foot 4 inches. If he bulks up he will be fine.
Hmm. Interesting. He could perhaps build up enough size to play Shazam. He wouldnt be particularly huge. Take Chris Hemsworth as Thor for example. Chris wasn't the biggest guy out there, he was rather lean actually at one point in time. But with the right budget and training he came to be the size he is for Thor. Maaaaybe if Zachary has the right body type and with the right budget and amount of time he could size up a bit? I'm not really sure but I guess we will see eventually!
