  1. Best Supergirl episode to date! (that's all 3 seasons!). But I have a mind-boggling theory (stay with me on this):
So the episode suggests Earth-38 is connected to Smallville, and Chloe Sullivan and Clark (years after events of "Smallville Season 10) are still friends. However, while Superman was still young teenage flight-less Clark growing up on the Kent Farm, he meets "Kara" (played by Laura Vandervoort, 23 episodes 2007-2011 … who later went on to play "Indigo" in Supergirl) when he discovers her ship after saving the town from a burst dam. Except this Kara was suspended in animation for years, and only reanimated from the dam accident. It is this Kara that first tries teaching him to fly as she has reached full Kryptonian potential, but later disappears in a portal breach after interactions with the Jor-El consciousness AI in the Fortress.

Is it possible, that when Kara was sent to protect Kal-El as Krypton was about to be destroyed, the vortex Kara travelled through somehow caused a dimensional "split" (think Commander William T. Riker and Commander W. Thomas Riker in Star Trek: Next Generation) whereby one gets knocked off course and is "Lost in Space" for 12 years (where time ha effectively slowed down till she practically doesn't age) until lands on Earth and is found by our now fully grown Superman (hence this Supergirl iteration), but the other "Kara" is torpedoed to so fast as a "journey Through Time and Space", she arrives on Earth fully grown, crashes and then gets suspended in animation where (as relative time has not moved) as destiny would have it she is found by young Clark (Tom Welling in "Smallville").

Now the kicker: So, Melissa Benoist's Kara Danvers remains our "Supergirl", but oit there somewhere, awaiting a return from whatever mystery dimensional portal Jor-El sent her, is a fully grown, now overpowered"…"Powergirl"! 🙂

  2. But we learn that Chloe Sullivan and Oliver Queen in Smallville got married and had a child. How would that be explained? So I think it was a nice Easter egg just like last season when Supergirl mentioned that Clark once partnered with an angry vigilante with lots of gadgets.

  3. And does anybody else think it's kind of selfish that Tom Welling knows full well that there is a show on CW based on Supergirl, and all Smallville fans talk about is how cool it would be if Tom Welling revised his role as Clark Kent on SUPERGIRL!!!

Yet allegedly, the idea he pitched to CW is how he could cameo on THE FLASH?- It's almost as though he cares more about getting himself seen on the "the more popular show" rather than helping "Supergirl" get more exposure- it just struck me as wierd.

  4. The reference to Chloe Sullivan from as well as mentioning the Wall of Weird from season 1 of Smallville that Chloe created was the best Easter Egg. The mention of Chloe could mean that She could exist in Supergirls Earth of course portrayed by a different actress.
This episode was close to home as well as a filler episode. To me it was a touching story and the chemistry between the younger versions of Kara-alex, Kara-Kenny was great. Kenny finding out about Kara's secret was nice and also he cared about Kara.
The Easter egg to the Lois Lane of the 50s was awesome. Noel Neil also played Lois Lanes mom in Superman The Movie as well.
The Alura disguise with J'onn was an easy giveaway.

  5. It wouldn't be the same timeline as Smallville. But the characters could exist on Earth 38 and some of the history and interactions between Clark and Chloe could exist on that Earth. Would be delighted to see the Actress again that played Chloe, but I'm not sure that's going to happen.

  6. Why would Smallville's Earth and Supergirl's Earth be the same. That's two completely different Supergirl storylines. That would make NO sense at all. Two completely different ages when Kara came to Earth, too. It makes no sense for them to be on the same Earth.
