Hey guys, SnapJelly here and yesterday me and a friend of mine practiced a little stage fight and here it is. Hope you enjoy!

Also I don’t know what kind of setting this is supposed to be…. like a viking with a kite shield or a unarmored knight vs a longsword/federschwert wielding ponytail boy or something….. whatever

  1. Hey there snappy!!! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ I've been teaching stage combat for years so I'm not one of those that will complain about "realism", it's for show! Just one safety tip: when you're on the ground and you kick the shield, I can see that the physics of the shield make it so that the wielder receives much stress on the front knee, with potential damage if in a high speed execution something goes wrong. And in stage fight it always does!! ๐Ÿ˜…
Beside that well done, very entertaining!!! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

  2. Quite good stage combat but please try not to aim your first attack (and any other attacks) straight the shield next time. Stage combat (if it isnt a parody) is picture of real fight. Your spectators must believe its serious. And attacks into the shield or parry are very easy to be spotted. And all realistic impression is gone immediatelly.
Good luck to You and Your work.

  3. Its funny to notice that Jelle moves a lot like a Traditional Kickboxer and a Boxer while he's active. His stance is very different ofc, but the way he steps in using the entire body in the correct order (Footwork Hips Shoulders Arms) and keeps his body sideways most of the time is really alike with the kind of sports i practice. Also as Mike Passenier (famous Kickboxing coach) liked to say: every strike is a step.

  4. This was a lot of fun to watch, though, realistically, there would have to be a huge skill difference for an unarmored person with a two-handed sword to go up against someone in a gambeson and holding a sword AND a shield (even with the extra reach a two-handed sword has).
Still, I would definitely like to see more stage fights.

  5. I enjoyed watching this. It's hard to come up with a decent stage fight in mere minutes. Tried this before and could not make it by any means long enough for stage ๐Ÿ™

Also you look like you had a lot of fun ๐Ÿ˜€
