It’s almost time for Star Wars: The Last Jedi! New images from the trailers and toys have made me think about a popular Snoke theory and how it might actually be true! In this video, I talk about everything we know about Supreme Leader Snoke from the movies, novels, and comics. Then, I start drawing connections and explain my big theory about what and who Snoke is. Let’s talk about it!

Our Humble Beginnings: The Den of Nerds started as the personal YouTube channel of our founder, Joshua Lucas. Josh is a comic book writer and editor, but more importantly, he’s a HUGE Nerd. He started making videos on June 15th 2016. The goal back then was to just talk about Nerdy things, but quickly Josh found that his interests had changed. Soon after, he formed a new vision for what The Den of Nerds could and should be.

The Changing State of Media: Media Is going through the most massive shift in the past hundred years. Everything is going digital, direct to market, and mobile. The best and worst part of this is that there are no more gatekeepers. Anyone and everyone can put their content out there and reach a mass audience. However, the new gatekeeper is the algorithm. In order to get stuff in front of people, certain practices are done which hurt quality. In this world, where established networks are now fighting for views against thousands of YouTube personalities and bloggers, ALL of these people have forgotten the most important part of this equation. That is the value for the end consumer. That is something we will NEVER do. How will we figure out how to add value to our audience? It’s simple; we’ll ACTUALLY interact with them and we’ll actually CARE.

Our Vision: We want to become the ESPN of Nerdy things, but obviously with some changes. We imagine a place and time where we have high quality and personalized content put out every day that serves Nerds around the world. We want to be hyper interactive with our viewers on Social Media and in person. Simply put, we exist to expand the fun in YOUR life! Becoming a major player in reporting, programming, and covering Nerdy things is how we plan to do that!

  2. This is my theory: The ones, they are a family of celestial beings you learn about in the clone wars animated series. A father, a sister and a brother. My theory is snoke is the brother who for millennia has chosen sith lords strong enough and worthy enough to combine with and take over their body, is conditioning and training Kylo Ren to do just that. His sister for millennia battles her brother and built the first jedi temple and taught the first generation of jedis to defeat her brother or at least capture him and keep him in check. This is the same temple that luke went in search of and is still waiting at until rey finds him. I believe that Rey is the reincarnation of The Sister through Obi Wan Kenobi's lineage because she doesnt jump from body to body like her brother and she is the missing piece of the puzzle to stopping Snoke. She is what Luke has been waiting for all this time, even if both him and rey dont know that yet and i believe this is where hopefully The Last Jedi picks up at. I could be wrong about all of this, but for the most part i feel like this is fairly accurate to what could be going on givin all the other details.

I think people are over thinking Snoke, he's just a Usurper to Palpatine's Empire, a mere Opportunistic fellow who, couldn't take on Palatine so waited in the shadows to slip in and take over Palpatine's bag, and all you Theorists are forgetting, that Vader's guards had Jedi abilities and powers of the force. so it is not a far Stretch he was merely one of Palpatine's hidden apprentices hiding in the wings incase Vader got destroyed

  18. IT IS VADER, reasons-half melted face, Kylo Ren has the mask of vader, if it was left in the fire pit in Return OF the Jedi it would have been melted 100%. Vader was Palpatine's apprentice, so he would have all the knowledge. He has a connection with Kylo Ren already though blood ties, making it easier to turn him to the dark side. He gets more influence with Kylo because he always talks to his old helmet, I believe he used the helmet to link with Kylo Ren and turn him evil. So easy its right in front of you. Boom

  23. Actually I’ve been hearin/thinkin He’s the last Ancient Jedi Of Old; Old Republic Style. Where The Jedi trained using both elements of light n dark to some degree but shifted more to the light, politically Connected, Galactic Police etc and the Sith also used both Light n Dark yet just like the Jedi over time shifted more into the Dark Side

    I find your theory very interesting. Let me blow your mind with my educated guess however. It coincides with yours but puts a name to snoke.
    As you mentioned he is described as incredibly ancient, and the timetable of aftermath adds up with your theory. I believe i have found a barely noticeable clue that confirms your theory and names Snoke as Darth Revan.

    In the app game Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, a game owned and promoted by Disney, a character from star wars knights of the old republic 1&2 is found as a recruitable character.
    HK-47, the assassin droid designed by revan is considered canon as Disney has permitted his inclusion in their games and products.
    If you examine kylo ren’s mask it is nearly identical to the classic revan mask, and in kotor 2 an ancient sith entity known as darth nihilus(might be mistyped) absorbs the force energy of entire worlds to sustain his existence.
    While swtor is tolerated by Disney and gladly accepts biowares cash to run it, it has been labeled as extended universe or legends, so all revan story in that game doesn’t count, leaving the story of Revan unfinished and adaptable.

  32. I think if snoke is a force user hes not a sith or in deep into the dark side, as they show his eyes several times and he doesn't have dark side corruption, no red on yellow eyes, so maybe something else that can use the force but doesn't really have a "side" parse.

  33. Plot twist, Luke made Kylo promise him to destroy Snoke which in return to draw Snoke out he told Ben to kill his students. Luke goes into exile just to hide the fact he did the darkest thing of all. When the time was right he will come out and kill Snoke with Kylo and Rey. Reyhad her memory wiped as did Kylo by Luke while he placed made up memories in Rey’s head to keep her safe from Snoke and so she wouldn’t remember Kylo and so Kylo wouldn’t remember Rey. I think he scene where Rey is in the cave with Luke she remembers everything and is pissed the fuck off.

  35. Super sweet theory, however I find it unlikely. I have no comment on who he could be but to be over 1,000 years old just seems a little to much for the star wars galaxy.

  37. Their are only 2 sith in the lore of star wars that feed on the force to stay alive 1 is the eternal emperor Vitiate or( Valkorion)to most people, the 2nd was Darth Nihilus. I think that snoke is is actually Valkorion and they are going to introduce the Zakuul empire(eternal empire) to give rise to a even bigger threat to the republic by the last movie

  38. Could he be the Darth guy who is a Spirit in the armor who feeds of the force and entire planets that is on the cover of the old republic game?

  40. Maybe after Nihilus was killed by the jedi, he spent a millenium trying to establish a physical form, the one he had after surviving the superweapon, and before losing it to the hunger.
