They’ve been the best of friends and co-stars for the best part of a decade, starting out on Game Of Thrones series one in 2011.
And it seems that loyalties between the Mother of Dragons and the King in The North run deep, as Emilia Clarke is doing her bit to get Kit Harington a role in Star Wars.
The 31-year-old actress, who plays Qi-ra in Solo: A Star Wars Story, was asked who’d she would like to see playing a young Luke in an origin story (yeah, that triggered us too).
“I feel like I have to say Kit Harington,’ she told Entertainment Tonight at the film’s premiere in LA on Thursday. ‘Because I have to, do you know what I mean?’
Allegiances in the Targaryen/Stark household are strong then!
However, while it would almost certainly be a master stroke to see Kit take a swipe at playing a character in the Star War universe – especially a Jedi – what seems to be a huge oversight on the interviewer’s part is that Luke actually has an origin story.
It’s called the Skywalker Saga… you know, the original timeline of the Star Wars films.
Sure we only catch up with a young Luke on Tattooine wanting to escape boredom of farming in the Outer Rim, but like… we all know his story… there are eight films that tell us how he came to be and what happens to him, and soon there’ll be a ninth to tie things up.
Leaving that aside maybe when the eighth and final series of Game of Thrones is out of the way the shows writer and producer David Benioff will cast Kit in a starring role in his forthcoming Star Wars films.
Solo: A Star Wars Story hits cinemas in the US and the UK on 25 May.
