A list of distinguished young actors has been compiled for the role of Lara Croft, with Sophie Turner and Lucy Boynton (Bohemian Rhapsody) set to audition for the role, which was famously portrayed in the film by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander previously, according to sources reported by Deadline.

Amazon MGM Studios is putting together a decorated cast for the TV adaptation of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, under Emmy-winning Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The series will look into the Tomb Raider mythos from the famous video game series, with an actress in her late 20s and 30s playing the part.

Waller-Bridge expressed her excitement in a statement, “If I could tell my teenage self this was happening I think she’d explode. Tomb Raider’ has been a huge part of my life and I feel incredibly privileged to be bringing it to television with such passionate collaborators. Lara Croft means a lot to me, as she does to many, and I can’t wait to go on this adventure. Bats ‘n all.”

The executive production of Tomb Raider is handled by Waller-Bridge and Jenny Robins via Wells Street Productions, Dmitri M. Johnson through dj2 Entertainment, Michael Scheel, and the rights holders, Legendary Television and Crystal Dynamics.
