Game of Thrones may be over, but that hasn’t stopped fans from wondering about the fates of their favorite on-screen family, the Starks. There are still plenty of unanswered questions that fans need
Sophie Turner grew up on ‘Game of Thrones’
Turner started working on Game of Thrones at the
tender age of 13. Her character’s age was 11 at the time. She grew up before the
eyes of fans everywhere and played the role like she was born to it.
“As a person, you become more closed off [due to fame],”
explains Turner. “It fed into Sansa, for sure. Coming in at age 13, I couldn’t
have played Sansa at 17. I wouldn’t have lived enough life.”
How did Turner know that her character was the right person
for the job? Simple. She
didn’t want it. “The fact that she doesn’t want power is also something to
be said for her. She only cares about the North,” said Turner.
Where does Turner see Sansa in the future?
After living her life as Sansa for years, it’s safe to say
that Turner knows a thing or two about where her character would be after years
on the throne in the North. It would be a time of prosperity for everyone and a
kingdom of democracy.
“No wars, no battles. I see her leading until she’s very old,”
explained Turner. “I don’t see her getting married or having children. I think
it would be a democratic kind of kingdom. She’d die of old age, very happy.”
Is there anything Turner wishes would have happened on ‘Game of Thrones?’
Turner recently told The Wrap that she had hoped for a
certain individual to deal Cersei (Lena Headey) a final blow. Arya, played by
Maisie Williams, would have been the perfect person to kill Cersei for a number
of reasons, but especially for revenge for the
Stark family.
“I thought Arya would kill Cersei. And I would like to have
seen Sansa and Cersei reunited, or Arya and Cersei,” explains Turner. “But
there were so many ways the story could have turned out. I felt very
passionately about the ending for Sansa, and I was very happy with the ending
that turned out for her.”
The ‘Game of Thrones’ cast is a family for Turner
Game of Thrones was a huge part of Turner’s life for
so long. Her fellow actors became her family and she bonded with them. When asked
if she had fully finished all of her crying yet, Turner said the moment is
probably yet to come.
“I think the biggest moment is yet to come, when I really
break down,” said Turner. “I think it might be at the Emmys, because the Emmys
are going to be the last time that we’ll ever see each other, at least as a
cast. Or maybe I’ll never really say goodbye. It’s really my family, and
because we love each other so much, it’ll be goodbye to the characters but not
to each other.”
Turner played her character well and will always be known as
Sansa Stark in the eyes of true Game of Thrones fans.
