Sophie Turner reveals the secret codename for Game of Thrones Season 8

The filming on Game of Thrones Season 8 is officially underway, and it already has one giant difference from Season 7. The show had multiple leaks during Season 7 filming, to a point where the entire plot was leaked online, and as we later found out, quite accurately. Season 8 hasn’t seen many leaks, and it has been because of the security measures that HBO took this time around. In a recent sit-down with DigitalSpy, Sophie Turner, who plays the role of Sansa Stark, talked a bit more about Season 8 and the tightened security. Read on!

Now, we’ve had multiple reports about Season 8 scripts being delivered on high security, and Sophie confirmed that it was all true:

“Yeah, it’s all true. I mean, we wouldn’t get anything physical. We would have it on an app. We would get sent sides for the scene [we were shooting] the next day. So we would have to learn it all the day before.And once you’ve read it, it disappears 24 hours later, and you can never access it again. It’s tighter than the White House security!”

Sophie also revealed bits like how everybody present at the filming locations “had stickers on their phones so that they couldn’t take photos,” and that the call sheets for every day had code names for the cast “so that no-one knew who was really going to be on set”. She also revealed the code name that the entire season had:

“It was Face of Angels. It’s a random one!”

Well, let’s hope that’s not a spoiler. Sophie also spoke of the pressure of trying not to reveal important details about the show before it comes out:

“It’s hard for me, I’m such a blabbermouth! I’m sure at a party I’ve probably spilled some beans to someone… probably to my mum!”
