Next season of Game of Thrones will be the last of the HBO series, and Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark on the show, has a few feelings about its end.

During a new interview with Marie Claire, Turner admitted that although she was young when she auditioned for GOT (she was 13 years old when she got the part), she always wanted a dramatic and tough role… and boy did she get one.

“That’s what I craved,” Turner told Marie Claire about the gritty role of the eldest Stark daughter. “I didn’t want some happy-go-lucky, bubblegum thing. I wanted real acting.”

Not only did Turner get real acting, but working on Game of Thrones gave her a second family, and forced her outside of her comfort zone. Eight seasons later (the eighth season has yet to get a premiere date), the British actress is ready for a new chapter, but it won’t be easy letting go.

“It’s like the carpet is being taken away underneath you,” Turner explained about the end of the HBO drama. “It’s also exciting because there’s such freedom.”

Despite having the freedom to take on new roles, like reprising her role as Jean Grey in X-Men: Dark Phoenix, and trying fresh characters like an Alabama native in the upcoming indie drama Hunstville, Turner isn’t planning on letting go of her GOT family. In fact, the 21-year-old actress admitted that a lot of her cast mates including best friend Maisie Williams, on-screen brother Kit Harington, Rose Leslie and more live “about 10 minutes away from each other” in London.

Turner teased that GOT will never leave her, because London has become GOT… minus the blood and gore.

“It’s still Game of Thrones town in London,” she told the publication, laughing. “We meet up whenever we can. We all party together. We go to festivals together. We’ll probably all be 80 and still going to Glastonbury.”

Okay, while we’re not ready to say goodbye to Game of Thrones and all of the amazing characters, the good news is that the cast is still as close as ever. Plus, if you’re ever in London, you might actually see the Starks and their pals hanging out, which would be amazing.
