Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) had her first child, daughter Willa, with husband Joe Jonas a couple years back. She’s now pregnant with her second child, and put her baby bump on display at last night’s Met Gala.

For those who don’t know, the Met Gala is a yearly event meant to raise funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City, but it’s long since become an excuse for celebrities to dress up in the latest fashions and show them off. This year’s theme is “In America: An Anthology of Fashion.” I have no idea if Jonas and Turner’s outfits fit the theme, but I do know they look cool.

Incidentally, Turner’s onscreen sister Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) also turned up for the Met Gala:

Sophie Turner explains how becoming a mother improved her acting

Motherhood hasn’t just changed Turner’s personal life; it’s also affected her career. She opened up about how during an appearance on the Unwrapped podcast.

“The concept of family has made me an entirely much more emotional person,” Turner said. “The empathy is heightened; the feelings about family are just like overflowing. It’s made me a better actor for becoming, you know, becoming a mother.”

As an actor, the only way to become a really brilliant actor is to experience as much life as possible and to bring those experiences in, and so this is just another little part of life that I’m experiencing that I get to bring in and hopefully it helps my performance one way or another.

You can next see Turner in the true crime series The Staircase on HBO Max. It premieres on May 5.
