Sophie Turner says Sansa Stark is going to be battling ‘threats’ in the final season of Game Of Thrones.

Sophie teased that Sansa is going emerge as a heroine next season, and fight for what she wants.

Sansa really comes into her own this season,’ she told Vulture.

‘She knows what she wants. She knows what she stands for. She knows who she wants to be around, and she faces threats to that this season.

‘But, well, we’ll see how that goes.’

The actress has previously said fans can expect to see a ‘warrior’ side to Sansa.

In a video interview with Gold Derby, Turner said: ‘I always saw something of a warrior in Sansa that I don’t think other people really saw.

‘I always had the feeling that she was learning and adapting, and at some point or another, it was going to manifest itself somehow, and she manifested it into being a warrior.

‘It felt really satisfying when it happened, and I’m really happy where this storyline for her has ended up.’

She has also told Digital Spy that she will emerge as ‘the true leader of Winterfell’.

Sophie said: ‘She is so empowered. She has a family behind her. She has Littlefinger, Cersei, Margaery, everyone’s wisdom and teachings all behind her.’

‘She’s a real, true leader of Winterfell now,’ she added. ‘And that’s where we first see her – as a very protective, empowered lady in charge. It’s the first time you ever see her like that, and it’s so amazing to see her like that – kind of owning her destiny.’
