Sophie Turner reveals true meaning behind her tattoo (Picture: @laurenwinzer, Getty)

Sophie Turner, aka Sansa Stark, recently caused turmoil in the Game Of Thrones fan base as she debuted a new GOT inspired tattoo.

The artwork featured a drawing of a direwolf – the Stark family’s sigil – above the words ‘the pack survives’ and fans freaked out that she’d just given the biggest spoiler of the series yet.

But there is no need to worry, as she has insisted her new body art has nothing to do with what’s coming in the final season of the hit HBO show.

Chatting to James Corden on the Late Late show, the 22-year-old revealed the real meaning behind her tat.

The star sparked rumours it was a GOT spoiler (Picture: FilmMagic)

She said: ‘It’s just a quote from last season but everyone figures that the pack really does survive, but it’s just a moral I like to live by.’

The actress even revealed that her friends had warned her not to get the tattoo, just in case it came across as a spoiler.

But she didn’t listen to them, and guess what – everyone thought it was a spoiler.

She said: ‘While I was getting it done people advised me not to because it looked like I was giving everything away.’

Before adding: ‘But I wasn’t.’

When she shared the snap on Instagram her followers lost their minds, and called the star out for spoiling the end of their much loved series.

One wrote: ‘fgss that looks like a spoiler.’

Another commented: ‘This better not be a spoiler……….’

Someone else said: ‘That’s a spoiler I think, it’s mean all the rest of the Starks will survives (sic).’

Sophie is currently in Aberdeen attending her co-stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie’s wedding.

Not many details have been released about the big day, however Kit revealed that he put a hold on GOT filming so that the cast could attend.

He said: ‘I rang up [the producer] and I said, “I’m getting married and it’s your fault actually”… I think for the final season he is so stressed that he’s reached that peaceful level. I was like, “You need to factor in a Game of Thrones wedding by the way.” They have all got to be there so the whole thing has got to shut down.’
