Over the past week or so, a big chunk of the Game of Thrones cast has gathered in Seville, Spain, near the ruins of Italica, which stand in for the Dragonpit of King’s Landing. We still don’t know exactly what they’re filming, so we’ve been reduced to fretting about who is and isn’t there. Will everyone in Seville be involved in one big scene, or will they film multiple scenes to be spread across the season? Are they shooting the series finale, and if so, what does that mean for the cast members who aren’t there? Do their characters not make it to the end?
Basically, we’re not sure of anything. However, we got another clue today, when a major cast member who’s thus far been noticeably absent finally arrived in the city. Light SPOILERS follow below.
Let’s cut to the chase: Twitter user captured video of Kit Harington (Jon Snow) arriving at a hotel in Seville:
Ay dios, no quepo en mi de la emoción!!!!!!! #KitHarington #Sevilla pic.twitter.com/k4Y509VVTt

The photographer is far away and the camera is shaky, but there’s no mistaking Harington’s distinctive coif of hair…or his all-black clothing, or his escort. Also he waves to the crowd:
Jo q majo os saluda, no? No esperaba menos de él…Siempre es un encanto con los fans, lo sé de primera mano! Me alegro un montón ahora mucha suerte y disfrutad mucho, gracias! pic.twitter.com/JwhPq9qJXX

Anyway, the cast/crew members who have been spotted in Seville now include Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), Conleth Hill (Varys), John Bradley (Sam Tarly), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Nicolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth), Joe Dempsie (Gendry), Vladimir Furdik (the Night King), Lino Facioli (Robin Arryn), Tom Wlaschiha (Jaqen H’ghar), Faye Marsay (the Waif), and showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff. We’re not saying that all of them will actually film scenes — some of them, like Wlaschiha and Marsay, seem like deliberate attempts to throw the fans off, while others have already left the city — but that’s where the tally stands.
Then there are the cast members who aren’t there, including Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm), Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei), Iain Glen (Jorah Mormont), Jerome Flynn (Bronn), Anton Lesser (Qyburn), Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (the Mountain), Rory McCann (the Hound), Daniel Portman (Podrick Payne), Kristofer Hivju (Tormund Giantsbane), Richard Dormer (Beric Dondarrion), Hannah Murray (Gilly), Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy), Gemma Whelan (Yara Greyjoy) and Pilou Asbæk (Euron Greyjoy).
Clarke is the most notable absence. At the moment she’s jetting around the world promoting the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story. At the moment, she’s in France:
Filming at Italica will run for a while yet, so there’s still time for more people to show up, and we aren’t sure what their presence or absence means in any case. Still, Harington being here is something to note. We’ll be watching to see who else turns up in the next handful of days.
