Update: The number just keeps on growing at a rapid pace and has now reached 600,000 digital signatures in less than a day since we published the article, and at this rate the petition will soon cross the 1 Million mark.

Game of Thrones Season 8 is being received very poorly. The fans haven’t been happy with how the writing has been this season, complaining about the haphazard pace and convenient plot. They seem to be so angered with the whole deal that they have now started a petition to remake Season 8 with  “competent writers”. Read on!

While a lot of the complaints about the Game of Thrones have been about the plot development itself, it seems as though the fudged pace could have made it so. The first two episodes were well received, but the third and fourth were both heavily criticized, with the fifth episode, “The Bells“, becoming the worst rated episode of the show.

The displeased fans have now taken to Change.org with a petition to HBO that asks for the final season to be remade. The description reads:

“David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on. This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!”

Well, the petition has hit 150,000 signatures as of now and it looks like it could easily hit a million, and more, given the amount of dissatisfaction going around. The final episode plot summary was also leaked and has been getting a lot of hate so the finale could see this petition gain even more traction.
