"The Enemy Within" really shows the acting ability of Shatner – ranging from a mild person to outright mad and paranoid.

Aside from the Alternative Factor, the original Season of TOS was amazing and filled with excellent episodes — especially in comparison to the first season of TNG, DS9, Voy or ENT.

All of the other Trek series would hit their stride by the third season, but TOS came strong right out of the gate, which is especially impressive given the total lack of a budget or time the crew had to put together episodes on a weekly basis.
