There was a lot that didn’t sit right with me about the film, so I did a livestream on Facebook where we interacted with a lot of fans. It was a good time. Our Humble Beginnings: The Den of Nerds started as the personal YouTube channel of our founder, Joshua Lucas. Josh is a comic book writer and editor, but more importantly, he’s a HUGE Nerd. He started making videos on June 15th 2016. The goal back then was to just talk about Nerdy things, but quickly Josh found that his interests had changed. Soon after, he formed a new vision for what The Den of Nerds could and should be.

The Changing State of Media: Media Is going through the most massive shift in the past hundred years. Everything is going digital, direct to market, and mobile. The best and worst part of this is that there are no more gatekeepers. Anyone and everyone can put their content out there and reach a mass audience. However, the new gatekeeper is the algorithm. In order to get stuff in front of people, certain practices are done which hurt quality. In this world, where established networks are now fighting for views against thousands of YouTube personalities and bloggers, ALL of these people have forgotten the most important part of this equation. That is the value for the end consumer. That is something we will NEVER do. How will we figure out how to add value to our audience? It’s simple; we’ll ACTUALLY interact with them and we’ll actually CARE.

Our Vision: We want to become the ESPN of Nerdy things, but obviously with some changes. We imagine a place and time where we have high quality and personalized content put out every day that serves Nerds around the world. We want to be hyper interactive with our viewers on Social Media and in person. Simply put, we exist to expand the fun in YOUR life! Becoming a major player in reporting, programming, and covering Nerdy things is how we plan to do that!

  1. Ben Solo and Rey. I like what they did with the "connection." I don't believe Snoke and that he created the connection. Snoke lies. Two= Ben Solo (Kylo Ren) lies. You see him doing the same things Snoke must have done with Ben Solo. The other thing is that Johnson knocks us over the head with the Luke and Leia connection that parallels Ben and Rey. Also, I need to see it again, but Snoke says something in the beginning of the movie when he is taunting Ben about Skywalker and his seed. I need to see/hear what he says about that. WTF… seed??!!

  2. I actually love how Snoke goes out, like they replaced him with a more interesting character imo and I like how Kylo deceived him, very Sith like also Snoke was your typical Star Wars villain and he was too Palpatine like to be refreshing but Kylo Ren as the main villain? That's refreshing and I'm here for the Kylo Ren/Rey lightsaber rematch in Episode IX

  3. Rey is Kylos sister. We see the shadows of Han and Leia on the other side of the ice wall. Han joins Leias shadow before she morphs into Rey’s shadow before she wipes the ice. I’m convinced she is a solo/Skywalker. Snoke and kylo were lying to her telling her she is a nobody as a tool to turn her.

  4. Reys powers is believable Anakin was stupid strong with the force with little to no training. I thought the movie was great do i have issues with it of course, it's a departure if it was a empire retread people would be ready to riot. I know it ur job to dissect but wow.

  5. A whole lotta Disnified ugly! I’m done with the Disney “sequels”. Complete garbage from a guy that has Star Wars figures on his desk at work. Lifetime fan. Over Kathleen and her crap. Complete storytelling disaster they’ve drummed up out of mickey mouses butthole

  6. The last force connection (Rey-Lo) foreshadows that Snoke isn't really dead my nerds. Overall as fanboy and avid cannon reader I hated the movie. The lack of training, messy plot line, and fact that conflicting plans to save rebels is what really got most of them killed was just stupid. Bad humor was insulting. Rose sister story was powerful but rest of her story arc was horrible. Oh and is Rey even using the light side of the force? she doesn't know the difference between connecting to force through peace/tranquility vs passion/emotion so how could she be using one particular side? All padawans get taught basic force shield and she wouldn't even know thats possible at this point. The force is no longer with this franchise.

  7. My heart….. hurts…. I loved this movie. But I also had many many issues with delivery. Ugh. Need much time and many re watches before I can give my full opinion. Keep up the great stuff guys

  8. I felt deceived by the movie. Snoke was a disappointment, phasma was a disappointment, a lot of the dialogue between some characters was strange. Rose was on screen too much instead of other more important characters. The ending is so open. All that’s left is Rey and Kylo and I have no idea what to be hyped about for the next movie. I’m so confused I need like a week to process everything.
