  1. This scene has quite a bit of foreshadowing, the fact that the dire wolf(represents the starks) was killed by an animal with antlers, maybe a deer( the emblem of the house Baratheon, hints at how Ned’s alliance with Robert Baratheon led to the decimation of the Starks

  2. The dire wolves enter and leave the story as the foreshadowing that they enter with. Lady = Sansa's quest to be a Lady. Summer = Bran having been a summer child and his quest living beyond the Wall and spending the rest of his life at the end of summer in a cave as the 3 Eyed Raven. Nymeria = Arya's quest to across the Narrow Sea. Grey Wind = Rob's quest to Kingship that arrives and departs as quick as the wind blows. Ghost = Jon's quest into death. And Shaggy Dog = Ricons' quest is literally a Shaggy Dog.

  3. SPOILERS

I feel like the direwolves deaths represent the deaths of their owners. Shaggydog was killed by the Umbers, a house that betrayed the Starks (not anymore). Rickon was killed by Ramsay, someone who's from a house that betrayed the Starks, The Boltons. Grey Wind was killed by the Freys, and so was Robb. Lady was killed by Ned on the orders of King Robert. This might symbolize a Stark might kill Sansa. Summer was mauled by the undead. Bran might be mauled by the undead. I don't know, what do you guys think?

  4. I think the Dire wolves were certainly put there by unknown forces. Unfortunately Nymeria is the only wolf left alive. I thought Arya and Nymeria would reunite in episode two and it was disappointing when they did not. I am sure we will see her again though. Additionaly, Arya meeting Jaqen H'ghar was no coincidence. I think this was a destiny determined for Arya by the same "unknown forces". When Arya kills her rival and would be killer and places her face in the Temple of the Faceless God, she is approached by her teacher who she originally met in Westeros and knew as Jaqen H'gar and he asks her if this girl has a name and she forcefully states she is Arya Stark of Winterfell and she is going home. As she leaves they flash back to her usually expressionless teacher and he has a small/ever so slight smile. As if he knows that he was to train her for this destiny all along.

  5. I think that the Stag killing the mother direwolf was symbolic of what happened to the Stark children. if you look at the order of the Cubs death then you'll see that the order of their deaths coincide with either the trauma or the death of the Stark owner itself at the hands of a stag, at least at this point. I know that Bran's direwolf was killed and season 6 and he still alive but his wolf could easily come back as the undead and I think that that is what is going to happen so technically Bran's direwolf could still be alive but in a different sense and we know that Arya and Jon Snow's wolves are still alive. it has been rumored that brand himself will become one of the undead so it's quite possible that if his wolf comes back as the undead then that means it's definite that brand will as well in some way shape or form.

  6. Or theres a hole in the wall that connects the south and the north and thats how the direwolves got in, and so through that hole is how the white walkers are gonna come in. I just dont see ice zombies climbing that gigantic wall.
