Stranger Things is officially better than Game Of Thrones (maybe it was the ending that ruined it?).
Tech Talks has revealed the top ‘social media mentions’ for the most talked about television shows on Twitter – and it’s no surprise which ones came out on top.
According to their statistics, Stranger Things was the most mentioned show on social media with a whopping 32,197,368 mentions,
to Game of Thrones’, 11,152,522 mentions – so basically the numbers don’t lie.
It even topped Black Mirror and Chernobyl.
It also turns out that more women tweeted about Stranger Things to men, whereas GOT was more popular with men.
It is easy to see why Stranger Things has dominated the stats as season three smashed Netflix records as 64 million people tuned in to watch the show in the first four weeks alone.
It’s a pretty good sign then that hit show, starring Millie Bobby Brown has been renewed for season four although the future of the series is not yet known beyond that.
Game Of Thrones, the award-winning drama, came to a controversial end in May this year – with cast members frequently subjected to scrutiny over the backlash which followed.
Eagle-eyed viewers have also noticed some serious plot holes since the series ended, one being in season eight and Daenery’s murder.
Fans will remember how Jon Snow (Kit Harington) made the heart-breaking decision to murder his love Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) after deeming her unfit to rule.
He came to the conclusion after the brutal burning of King’s Landing, which saw soldiers and civilians alike torched indiscriminately.
During their final embrace, Jon plunged a dagger into his love, prompting her only remaining dragon, Drogon, to melt the Iron Throne and fly off into the distance with her corpse in his claws.
In the fallout from the betrayal, Jon was arrested – however, this is when some viewers noticed some major flaws in the plot.
They said there were some problems with his arrest as there wasn’t enough evidence.
With no body and no confession scene, some claimed that Jon’s trial was ‘glossed over’.
‘If the dragon flew away with Daenerys’ body, how did they know that Jon stabbed her?’ one Reddit user complained.
The comment received hundreds of messages as other fans chipped in with their thoughts on the subject.
