  1. I hope future seasons don't go more global. Part of the charm of the series is that it avoids the end of the world tropes that so many movies feel the need to cling to. Personalizing Hawkins and keeping the ramifications in this small town keeps the impact on a more local immediate level. Which, to me, keeps the focus on the characters we love and stays focused on arcs for the main cast, which is still a bunch of people to juggle.

  2. This season raised the bar on pretty much every level for a television series. New characters were well introduced, old characters grew in new, fresh ways, and the plot was unique yet still felt connected to season one. As for that final scene, to me it resonated as a personal vendetta. "Him," who or whatever it is, knows who it was that was responsible for keeping it in the Upside Down. I'm glad we're getting a villain that will extend into future seasons. Side note: I didn't mind seeing Matthew Modine briefly reappear but I'm still under the impression he's dead for good.

  3. spoilers for stranger things 2, no i refuse to belive it.
and what´s with anger being the best tool? to get more power shouldn't it be a balance or happiness? maby next season? perhaps the "gate" is weak
    because she used anger?

i got that the monster was angry, perhaps the next season begins with it smashing through the roof?

the less you jump ahead in time the more shows you get, unless they plan to go past the 80s… will they?

could the "monster" be like the first test person? could it/he/she reach out to 8?

11 could reach out to others with her mind and gather them where she is?

what´s that weird world magazine that existed before? the demidog could end up in that perhaps.

would be sweet if 11 used her powers to do everything in the next season, float instead of walking, hover a book and eat and vacuum at the same time
    you get it.

stranger thing a hero verse veiled in nostalic supernatural suspence. if they did´t loose their powers of course but it didn´t seem like it, will
could be seen as one with power if he could learn to control the darkness and the demidogs. the darkness, papa and whoever owns the reaseach
facility could be seen as villains and hech people perhaps. not to mention the 9 other potentially powered people or more if there were others after 11.

oh and maby edit in the demidog fight with 11 if it´s lying on the floor somewhere you know… can not believe you didn't show us that. rip-off! good show though.

    love the shows.

  4. Ok, theory idea:
So throughout the series, eleven’s ‘dad’ (forgot his name rip) makes several comments about a ‘festering wound’. At the end of the series, when the bit of mindflayer comes out of will, a bit flies into the sky/atmosphere. SO what if this piece of mind flayed has attached itself to the atmosphere and is festering, slowly turning the whole world into the upside down?

  5. Last two eps : AWESOME. First seven eps : mediocre. What I missed was the core friendship. There was too much stand alone. I mean Mike is the lead in S1 and you see him less than Bob. LOL

  6. For you non DnD nerds confused over the monster references. The Demogorgon is the monster from season one. It is a foil to Eleven's character. The Demogorgon is a 2-faced demon prince (Eleven and the creature metaphor). She destroys the monster when she realizes she isn't the monster, she's just a girl (who wants to be normal), and saves her friends. Season 1 left use thinking that the Thesselhydra would be this seasons big bad, but it wasn't, in a way, but rather it was the mindflayer. Going on a hunch that the Mindflayer is foil for Eight (she controls people by making them see what isn't there, a power mindflayers have in DnD). The Thesselhydra is a variant of the Thesselmonster. I think the Duffers went with the Hydra (form of water dragon) because it sounds less generic and more menacing. The Thesselmonster is collection of ancient monsters and beast in one entity. So is the big shadowy thing in the Upsidedown the Thessel? Probably. However, the mindflayer was the xenomorph headed creature controlling Will that we saw holding the gate open at the end. My theory is that the Thessel is what gives the kids from Hawkins labs their powers. It is a metaphor for the ugly abuse they went through at the hands of the government, One to Eleven, draw their powers from. If Eight had the same powers as Eleven this may not be so, but each child represent a particular monster, with Eleven being the most powerful (probably).

  7. Please get Perry off these videos, she is intolerable. I read so many comments saying this and yet (once again) the grading voice comes on and I miss another great Collider group of adult opinions because I just can take it. I miss Collier so much because I refuse to listen to that overbearing brat.

  8. Okay so Dustin and Jim breathed in spores from something they've called a virus hive-mind. Then a part of the thing that controls the hive-mind left Will and floated off into the sky.

Surely that's the set up for season 3.

  9. I wonder if the showrunners are aware of the fact that "Every Breath You Take" isn't actually a romantic song, but rather a song about a guy who is stalking a girl. Because of the fact that the "stalker" got to dance with the girl who thought he was a stalker, and all the while they are being stalked (yes, that was the joke). 🙂 😉 😀

(Sometimes I wonder about what the Internet is doing to our perception of the written word. If you don't explain yourself immediately and add a ton of emojis, people don't seem to grasp that you're being tongue-in-cheek; which kind of defeats the point of being tongue-in-cheek. )

  10. Here is my review, Hopper makes stupid arrogant decisions because he thinks he is a Marvel superhero. Dustin's little chubby, rod gummin and selfishness puts the whole town at risk. Nancy and both of her love birds makes ridiculous and ignorant decisions just because they can. Yep….

  11. my problem is if there are more kids out there how are they all escaping like it was this huge deal when eleven escaped so now way it wouldnt be a huge shit show if others were out

  12. I thought HE was trying to infect Eleven when she was closing the gate, so I think this will be the next big threat for season 3. Because if Eleven were forced to become part of the hive mind she would be really difficult to rescue/defeat.

  13. 1) Bob is an awesome character. He was used because he's just a nice guy who really was into a woman that wasn't that into him. She just wanted the normalcy and stability he provided for her and her kids. He is TOTALLY a cautionary tale. Sometimes being a nice guy and too willing to take on the baggage of someone else can destroy you. #DontBeABob

    2) The closing of the gate was a phenomenal scene! The scale was spot-on considering where the show currently is. It showed the power that Eleven truly has along with the cost of using that power. Power has a cost and when that isn't shown people get a great misconception about what true power is. Plus, she had to dig down deep emotionally to draw from that power and give herself the strength to heal. The way she started off holding Hopper's hand to give her a little more strength then letting go as she did what only SHE could do was cinema magic. I watched the whole gate scene over and over and did a good amount of crying. It made me think of the emotional wounds that young people go through and never truly heal from. That this young girl would not only recognize what her true wound is and find the strength to both heal herself and save the world at the same time is such a strong statement for women everywhere. As a big Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan, Eleven has now surpassed Buffy in my eyes for the Champion Belt in teenage girl strength.

    3) They have to raise the stakes. The Mind Flayer and Eight are a part of that. The reason I enjoyed episode 7 is because it was a reminder that there is a whole big world out there outside of their little town that has been effected and will be effected by what happens in that town. Though the episode was jarring for many, from a storytelling point of view it sets up a clear trajectory for Eleven and the gang. Season 1: It's okay to be who you are and who you are can save the ones you love. Season 2: It's about more than just you and there is indeed a responsibility that comes with ability. You can use it for yourself (Eight) or you can use it for yourself AND others (Eleven). Season 3 I predict will be about the weight of that responsibility and the challenge of saving a world that many times doesn't give much reason to be saved. Season 4 I predict will be about showing the effect the decisions they make as youth have on the rest of their lives and those they come into contact with for good and for bad, while also learning to be comfortable with who they have grown to be. At least this is how I would handle the storytelling

I usually stay away from the comment section for this channel, but I loved this season just that much. It's a true masterpiece in storytelling at a time when everything else on tv feels so generic. Even the real stuff! The Duffer Brothers and Netflix should be very proud of their accomplishment.

  14. I thinks the mind flayer has true sight and is spying in them because I know that will had true sight before, but after will was possessed he could see things much more frequently.

  15. Just how they already knew how they wanted season 2 to end before they even started the season .. we all know how it will end in season four.

    11 will die .
She will finally get away and get her freedom but as time has gone.. she will die she used too much of her powers and damaged her brain and she slowly been killing herself since season 1.

If you don’t believe me that’s completely fine . But just wait.

  16. character growth in steve and nancy is my favorite thing in s1e1 dustin is gonna give nancy pizza and she slams the door on him and then on s2e9 she dances with him at the dance omg

  17. The last episode had me on edge and constant change of emotions, I'm so excited for season 3. I just feel like no 8 and 11 will reunite and the others will also be brought into the next season's for the shadow monster to be finally terminated
