No, it did not deliver. I do not think I have ever seen anything so unoriginal. The entire season was just a concatenation of Lewton buses, jump scares, music stings, because-plots, and TV/movie clichés. It never caught fire. I was never involved in the characters or the story. The final episode was so predictable and anodyne that I found it tedious and thought it would never end … oh, and welcome back, guys!
On Season 3, the Duffer Brothers said they have the complete story arc already planned. They just don't know how many seasons it will take to complete it through filming, it could take 4 or 5 seasons in total.
