The 2023 Emmy nominations have been announced, and it’s HBO’s game to lose. Succession secured 27 nominations, The Last of Us 24, and The White Lotus 23. The only non-HBO show really in their league is Ted Lasso, which picked up 21 nominations for Apple TV+. Altogether, HBO got 127 nominations.
And if you ask me, there should have been more HBO nods. Although the network’s Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon is up for Outstanding Drama Series, considered the top award of the night, none of the actors received any Emmy nominations, including favorites like Milly Alcock, Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith and Paddy Considine. Robbed, I say!
