Not for the first time, Taylor Swift disclosed her love for HBO’s Game of Thrones
The Hollywood Reporter included singer Taylor Swift on its 2022 Women in Entertainment power rankings, which was released on Wednesday. The article included a quote from Swift when she was asked what fictional character she identifies with.
“Arya Stark,” Swift answered, naming the revenge-minded noble-born daughter of House Stark from HBO’s Game of Thrones. “I realize I don’t know how to use a sword and I’ve never had to rise up from near death to go on an epic revenge mission – but I have been in the music industry for over 15 years, so…”
Swift has shown her love for Game of Thrones in the past. She told Entertainment Weekly that her 2017 single “Look What You Made Me Do” was inspired by Arya Stark as well. Some of the lyrics to that song were apparently influenced by Arya’s infamous kill list, off of which she would recite the names of the people she intended to murder before falling to sleep every night.
Swift also went on to say that if she could trade places with anyone in Hollywood for a day, it would be Guillermo del Toro because of his impressive imagination and storytelling range. And how.
