  1. I would have included The Bride vs Oren Ishii in Kill Bill Vol 1. The music & the intense style made it pretty amazing. I think it qualifies as one-on-one despite the massacre in the club because they are alone.

  2. Love the list love the honorable mentions even more was shocked to see Blind Fury starring Rutger Hauer was not in either honorable mentions or on the main list. Also you could have made an exception for at least one lightsaber battle from the Star Wars franchise

  3. Two of my favorites are the Tony Curtis scene against the Baron (Ross Martin) in 'The Great Race' and then Danny Kaye against Basil RathBorne in 'The Court Jester'.

  4. There's one you missed. From the Polish film "The Deluge". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljExTEPNFnM Far superior to a lot of the sword fights in this list. For a good critique of sword fights in movies go to Scolagladitoria's web site. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCt14YOvYhd5FCGCwcjhrOdA
Among the the things he mentions is The Princess Bride. Clewes and Manikin are doing little more than engaging in point play
The Adventures of Robin Hood. Rathbone was actually a fair fencer. But fencing is not actual sword fighting. A better duel between Rathbone and Flynn occurred in Captain Blood.

  5. 1) Hiroyuki Sanada vs Min Tanaka in “Twilight Samurai”! (most real)

    2) Jet Li vs Don Yen in the “Hero”! (Artful)

    3) Torshiro Mifune vs Atsuo Nakamura in the “Challenge”! (Powerful)
