how the fuck did Stannis survive the cavalry assault?  he was literally standing at the very front, and he's not one to back down/run away.  he was first through the breach at Blackwater Bay, and they had to pull him away to retreat.

One time I supported the Boltons. After Shireen, I couldn't forgive Stannis

At least he doesn't beg for mercy and is facing death like a real man.

They butchered the best character, but this scene was awesome.

Stannis should not have marched on winterfell . When he sent ravens to northern houses to pledge fealty to him. When they did not reply. He should have gone back on his ships and sailed for the riverlands and librate the riverlords. They would have rallied to him. His army numbers would have grown. He would smashed the lannisters. Jaimie would have been no match for him

Greatest moment in this series. Stannis who is my favourite character gave everything. He sacrificed everything, made many painful decisions and despite his duty, will and righteousness his end was saddest. Can't wait to see how things work out for him in ASOIAF.

you know what's funny; Stannis could've just waited for Cersei to destroy the Sept of Baelor and let Tommen kill himself and afterwards he can just walk on to the Red keep and take the throne.

Nevermind.
Perhaps I should've scouted ahead before bringing my army onto the battlefield…
but nobody uses scouts in Westeros. We're too smart for that!

I like how those soldiers close to the woods cant make their minds if run away or not. I think you have very slight chance outrunning cavalry but still better stay and fight.

Stannis saw the incoming army and he was like: "Well, there's no way to get out of this mess. Retreat and we're dead, fight and we're also dead. At least I can go out fighting…"
