the subtle laughs that are not edited out are really making me question my sanity.

It's so forced and awkward without the laugh tracks. Just goes to show how they manage to convince you that a show is funny without actually using any humour.

The only reason that this version isn't funny is because of the long pauses. It's like cutting out bits of dialogue in Star Wars, and expecting the story to make sense. TBBT is written with these laugh tracks in mind, hence the pauses. Without the pauses, it would sound a lot more natural, and less like everyone is an asshole.

The silence is so long without the laugh tracks

You morons do understand that this is filmed in front of a live studio audience don't you? The term laugh track implies a pre recorded track of just pure laughter recycled through scenes and other shows which this is not. I have been to a live taping of this show and the acquisition of the tickets was one the hardest things I've ever done. If you think that this is just fake laughter and not live laughter that they're actually recording as the characters are doing the scenes then you're too unintelligent to even watch the show let alone understand it.

If you want to watch true comedy check out Laurel and Hardy. They said it all with very slight expressions and strangely orchestrated incidents.
