It's awesome to see a positive review. Most of the other reviews I saw talk about the exact same little details. They're not even trying to see the good stuff about the movie which is pretty sad

As someone who's read all the books and want this to continue so I can see some of my favorite characters and scenes, this movie served as a good introduction to the world, more like a 90 minutes pilot and the cast was spot on! My friend who saw it with me have not read the books but he was pumped to read them. Also, there were some really funny moments with Roland in New York. Besides, TV series would be better medium for this. They probably would do another movie or two too hopefully.

Dude, get Audible. That's probably the most realistic way to get through this amazing 15 mile high story.

Really enjoyed this video, put a bug smile on my face and got me hyped for the movie. Choo Choo (you won't get that until book three, heh).

So, okay.

I am a die hard Dark Tower Fan. If you ask my my favorite set of book it always has been and always will be The Dark Tower. A Song of Ice and Fire comes in a close second. That's how much I love it.

This movie was just.. fine.
As you read read more into the series and meet other characters you will see why HC fans are upset.

It wasn't a bad movie.
It just didn't live up to its potential…by far.

The Man In Black is from The Stand. He was The Walking Dude aka Randall Flagg in that novel. The novels expand out to other King novels & even into other fantasy novels. It's very meta.

The second book is by far my favorite of the series. If you like how Roland interacts with "our" world, you'll probably love it. Eddie Dean is a blast, too.
