Last month, WiC went to Con of Thrones 2019, the biggest Game of Thrones and Song of Ice and Fire fan convention in the world. We appeared on panels, talked to fans, and generally had a grand old time. Would recommend.

Easily one of the most memorable moments came when we hit up the Con of Thrones marketplace at the Music City Center in Nashville and took part in some Belegarth. For those unfamiliar, it’s faux-medieval fighting, with foam swords and shields in place of real ones. If you’re still confused, watch on. All will be explained, with visual aids:

Did you see the part where Kern Blackwolf Von Richter shot a bottle cap off my head? I could have died been mildly irritated in the face.

Also, kudos to our editor Richard Durante to having some serious fun putting this video together. And Kern, I’m sorry if I spelled your name wrong. That name does not occur in nature.

If you’re interested in Belegarth, check out the website! And if you’re in the Nashville area, you can check out Dur Demarion, which is sort of the local chapter. I think I’m a part of that clan now.

Either that, or just come to Con of Thrones 2020 and face me in battle!
